This agreement came after a decision by The Executive Council of Dubai to provide land for affordable housing projects. This is part of Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan and the Affordable Housing Policy. The goal of this policy is to create lively and healthy communities, support important business areas, offer more job opportunities, and meet the housing needs of people with different incomes. The policy also wants to provide a variety of good-quality homes that follow the right standards. These homes will be well connected to the city center and will have easy access to important services. The projects also follow the idea of the ‘20-Minute City,’ where everything people need is within a 20-minute reach.
The first part of these housing projects will cover six areas in Dubai: Muhaisnah 1, Al Twar 1, Al Qusais Industrial Area 5, and Al Leyan 1. These areas add up to about 1.46 million square meters. More than 17,000 new homes will be built in these areas. These homes will be for skilled workers from different nationalities who have important jobs in both government and private companies. The main goal is to provide good homes at affordable rent prices, make the best use of the land, and create housing designs that suit the needs of different communities.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer said that housing is very important to the leaders of Dubai. They want to improve people’s lives and the community’s well-being. The Affordable Housing Program is one of the government’s key projects to help individuals and families have a balanced and good life. This program also fits well with the UAE’s plan to make 2025 the ‘Year of Community.’
He also explained that this program supports the goals of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which wants Dubai to be the best city to live in. The plan focuses on giving easy access to high-quality homes. It also helps reduce the time people spend traveling between work and home, which lowers living costs, improves how people work, and makes them happier and healthier.
His Excellency Marwan Ahmad bin Ghalita said that these affordable housing projects show the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. His vision is to create a strong and happy society and make Dubai the best city in the world for living and working. This vision means providing a high quality of life in lively communities that help people grow and reach their goals.
He added that these new projects under the Affordable Housing Policy, supported by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, are a big step in building strong and sustainable urban areas. These projects will help create healthy communities with all the services and recreational places that people need. They will also help create jobs, support business activities, and improve city planning. All of this will make Dubai more attractive, strong, and a great place to live.
His Excellency Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim said that Wasl Group is dedicated to creating a future where everyone can live comfortably in well-planned communities. Working with the RTA and Dubai Municipality is an important move to provide sustainable and quality homes. He mentioned a recent workshop called ‘Bridges of Communication,’ which showed how important it is for everyone to work together to make housing affordable. This agreement is a sign of their promise to help make Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan a success and to build a connected, sustainable city for the future.
