The Dubai Press Club (DPC) has announced two exciting award ceremonies that will take place during the Arab Media Summit 2025, scheduled from 26 to 28 May at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the summit will spotlight innovation and creativity in Arab media. On 26 May, the winners of the ‘Ibda’a – Arab Youth Media Award’ will be honoured, while the ‘Arab Social Media Influencers Award’ ceremony will take place on 28 May. Both events are supported by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, emphasized that the Arab Media Summit is a powerful platform for celebrating young talents and recognising those who are shaping the future of Arab media. She noted that these awards align with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to empower Arab youth and promote media as a force for positive change. She added that the support from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed underscores the Dubai Press Club’s commitment to nurturing media excellence and honouring both promising students and impactful content creators.

Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Director of the Dubai Press Club, explained that the Ibda’a Award and the Arab Social Media Influencers Award are key to Dubai’s mission to become a hub for Arab media talent. She highlighted that these awards not only celebrate individual achievements but also showcase how emerging talents are using both digital and traditional platforms to educate, inspire, and drive meaningful change. Jassim Al Shamsi, Director of Awards and member of the Organising Committee, added that the awards highlight outstanding media work and reflect the growing media awareness among Arab youth. He believes the initiative will inspire more young professionals to innovate responsibly. The judging process, he assured, was conducted with fairness and transparency by a panel of industry experts.

The Ibda’a Award, originally launched in 2001 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, continues its legacy of discovering and supporting emerging media talent. This year’s edition received an impressive 2,736 submissions from across the Arab world. The award features six categories—Podcasting, E-Games, Multimedia, Photography, Short Video, and News Reports—with each winner receiving a prize of USD 5,000. Meanwhile, the Arab Social Media Influencers Award, now in its fifth year, recognises digital creators and platforms making a positive impact on society through innovative content. In response to the evolving media landscape, the award has expanded to include 12 categories, with new additions such as Economics, Podcasting, Best News Platform, and Best Children’s Platform, alongside established categories like Influential Personality of the Year, Entrepreneurship, Community Service, Health, Sports, Culture, Tourism, and Arts and Entertainment.

Together, these awards highlight the Dubai Press Club’s dedication to uplifting Arab media talent, promoting excellence, and encouraging media that truly makes a difference. The Arab Media Summit 2025 stands as a beacon for the next generation of creators, empowering them with a voice and a vision for the future of Arab media.
