The amnesty period for residency violators in the UAE will not be extended, ending on October 31. Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, the Director-General of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP), made this announcement during a press conference in Sharjah today. With less than 24 days remaining, he emphasized the urgency for individuals to adjust their visa status.
Major General Al Khaili warned that strict legal measures would be implemented against those who do not comply with residency rules after the grace period concludes. This includes the reinstatement of previous fines for individuals who fail to rectify their status during the designated amnesty timeframe.
During the media gathering, Major General Sultan Yusuf Al Nuaimi, the Director General of Residency and Foreign Affairs at ICP, reiterated that tougher actions would be enforced once the amnesty period ends. These measures may involve deportation of violators and their placement on a no-entry list, significantly affecting their ability to return to the UAE.

He added that intensive inspection campaigns would be carried out across various locations, including residential areas, businesses, shops, and industrial zones, to identify violators. Dedicated teams are currently monitoring these areas to ensure compliance with residency regulations.
“There will be fines imposed and deportations ordered from the country with no possibility of re-entry unless conditions are met,” Major General Al Nuaimi stated. He urged those who have received exit permits to leave the UAE before the deadline, noting that some individuals have yet to depart.
As the deadline approaches, authorities are keen to ensure that all residency violators take the necessary steps to adjust their visa status and avoid legal repercussions.
