In the early hours of Tuesday, Al Ain residents woke up to hailstones covering their backyards. The night prior featured relentless rain, thunder, and lightning in Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and parts of Sharjah.
Dubai residents witnessed lightning streaks flooding the night sky, accompanied by thunder and light rain.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a warning of hazardous weather, advising residents to prepare for heavy rainfall in parts of Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, with scattered showers expected in Dubai. This precautionary alert aims to ensure residents are ready for potentially adverse conditions and avoid outdoor activities.
The Met Department emphasized precautions during heavy rainfall and strong winds, causing low visibility and falling objects. Residents were urged to steer clear of flash flooding and accumulated rain and hail.
Storm.ae shared videos of hail showers in Al Ain's gardens and streets.
Motorists were urged to follow traffic rules, and Abu Dhabi Police activated a speed reduction system on specific roads.
The Ministry of Interior urged vigilance, advising caution, reduced speeds, avoidance of water ponds, streams, seas, and beaches.
Weather Forecast:
Cloud cover is set to increase, with light to moderate daytime rainfall in some areas. Rain likelihood will grow, featuring consecutive waves of moderate to heavy rain, thunder, and lightning, potentially with hail in limited eastern and northern areas. Rain chances will decrease Tuesday evening.
Another weather situation is expected Thursday to Sunday, peaking Saturday, affecting most parts of the country from the west to the north and east.
