The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, recently hosted an engaging workshop on traditional Emirati crafts. Organised in collaboration with the House of Artisans and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the event offered visitors a hands-on experience of authentic cultural practices.
Participants were introduced to the art of making oud, incense, and traditional Emirati perfumes, allowing them to experience the richness of the nation’s cultural heritage. The workshop reflected the unique artistic and aesthetic sensibilities that distinguish Emirati craftsmanship.
Nouf Al Dhaheri, Artisan Affairs Administrator at the House of Artisans, explained that the workshops are part of a broader perfume programme within the UAE Pavilion. She highlighted that the sessions were designed to showcase Emirati heritage to a global audience and to educate visitors on traditional perfume and incense-making techniques.
The workshops received a strong turnout, with many visitors expressing keen interest in learning about the intricate processes and cultural significance behind these crafts. Officials said the initiative successfully promoted Emirati art and traditions while creating an interactive cultural exchange at the international event.
Through such initiatives, the UAE Pavilion continues to strengthen its role in sharing the nation’s heritage and creative talent on a global stage.
