As part of an official visit by a UAE media delegation to Kuwait, the Dubai Press Club (DPC), along with the Dubai Media Incorporated Youth Council and the Kuwait Ministry of Information Youth Council, organised a panel discussion titled “Media and the Voice of Youth: UAE and Kuwait.”
The visit showed the strong and long-standing brotherly relationship between the UAE and Kuwait. Both countries share the same goal of using media to support young people and raise awareness in society.
The discussion was attended by Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club. She was joined by young media professionals from both the UAE and Kuwait. The session focused on how young people can shape the future of media, use modern digital tools in a responsible way, and create a positive impact on society.
During her address, Her Excellency Mona Al Marri said that the relationship between the UAE and Kuwait is built on history, loyalty, and mutual respect. She added that young people are the key to keeping this strong bond alive in the future.
She explained that today’s youth are aware of how information spreads, especially through social media and digital platforms. Young people in both countries have shown maturity by handling challenges carefully. They do not fall for rumours or false information and work to protect the true image and values of their nations.
Her Excellency also said that the biggest challenge for youth today is not the lack of opportunities, but the spread of wrong ideas. Supporting young minds is very important because protecting the thinking of youth means protecting the future of a country.
Abdulaziz AlJasmi, Chairman of the Dubai Media Incorporated Youth Council, said that young people see media as a serious responsibility. He shared that youth create content not just to become famous, but to inform people and spread awareness.
Hanan AlBalushi, Media Officer at the Council, said that Emirati and Kuwaiti youth are united by awareness and values, not just language or social media platforms. They want to present their real identity and stay away from unnecessary noise online.
Ayesha AlNuaimi, a Council member, explained that social media has given young people a strong voice. However, true influence comes from honest messages, not from the number of followers.
Another Council member, Musab AlRaisi, said that the future of media in the Gulf is being shaped by creative young minds today. He added that encouraging and appreciating youth helps them become real partners in building a better future.
The visit was organised under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It was guided by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The visit also included the “UAE-Kuwait Media Celebration,” which highlights the close ties between the two nations.
The UAE delegation included more than 100 senior media professionals, such as editors, journalists, writers, content creators, artists, producers, and influencers. They met with leading Kuwaiti media figures, writers, and opinion leaders. The meetings reflected the UAE’s respect for Kuwait, its leadership, and its people, as well as the shared vision of both countries for a bright and prosperous future.
