Washington, D.C. – The White House has firmly defended President Donald Trump amid renewed scrutiny over his past association with Jeffrey Epstein, insisting that Trump “did nothing wrong” and had cut ties with the disgraced financier years before his arrest.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed reporters on Wednesday, following the release of emails by Democratic lawmakers suggesting Trump may have known about Epstein’s sexual abuse of minors.
“Jeffrey Epstein was a member at Mar-a-Lago until President Trump kicked him out because Jeffrey Epstein was a pedophile and he was a creep,” Leavitt stated. “These emails prove absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong.”
Epstein, a financier with high-profile connections, was convicted of sex offenses and later found dead in his jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His relationships with several influential figures, including Trump and former President Bill Clinton, have long sparked public and political debate.
The newly surfaced emails reportedly mention Trump’s interactions with Epstein and one of his victims, though no evidence directly implicates Trump in any criminal activity. The White House dismissed the allegations as “politically motivated” and reaffirmed Trump’s decision to sever ties with Epstein years ago.
According to multiple past accounts, Trump banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago resort after complaints about his inappropriate behavior toward staff and young women. The incident, Leavitt emphasized, was proof that Trump “took a firm stand against Epstein’s misconduct.”
Political analysts suggest the resurfacing of Epstein-related communications may aim to challenge Trump’s credibility as the 2026 election approaches. However, his team remains confident that the controversy will have little impact on his support base.
The statement marks one of the strongest public defenses of Trump regarding his past association with Epstein, underscoring the administration’s intent to distance the president from the disgraced financier’s legacy.
