Trapeze Artist Dies After Fall During Circus Performance

BAUTZEN, GERMANY — A 27-year-old trapeze artist died instantly after falling during a circus performance in Bautzen, eastern Germany, on September 28. The fatal incident occurred at the Paul Busch Circus as the performer, identified as Marina B., executed a solo trapeze stunt in front of an audience that included many children.

According to local authorities, Marina, a native of Mallorca, Spain, fell from an estimated height of five meters. Emergency services arrived promptly, but the police confirmed that she died at the scene. Witnesses described the tent as filled with screams, with parents quickly shielding their children from the horrific sight.

Preliminary investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. Ralf Huppertz, head of Germany's circus association, suggested that the artist may have suffered a sudden health issue, stating that it is unusual for a trained professional like Marina not to survive a fall from such a height.
