The 2026 edition will feature 20 teams competing in 55 thrilling matches, replicating the format from the 2024 tournament.

In the first round, teams will be organized into five groups of four. Group C will showcase England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Italy, and Group D will comprise New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, Canada, and UAE. The top two teams from each group will move to the Super Eight stage, divided into two groups of four. Super Eight Group 1 is anticipated to include India, Australia, West Indies, and South Africa, while Group 2 might consist of England, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, based on group outcomes.

Semi-finals are scheduled to take place in Kolkata or Colombo (if Pakistan qualifies) on March 4 and in Mumbai on March 5.
