The inaugural Dubai Premier Padel P1 tournament, part of a newly unified 25-tournament season spanning 18 countries across five continents, will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, as announced by organizers.

Set to take place at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, this event will showcase the world’s top players. Organized by Gallop Global, the tournament will feature 256 players competing in separate male and female pairs formats, with a combined prize pool of 470,000 euros (Dh1.89 million).

Marking its debut in Dubai, the Premier Padel P1 follows a multi-year agreement involving the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA), the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai Sports Council (DSC), Premier Padel, and Gallop Global.

Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of UAEPA, emphasized the significance of Sheikh Mansoor’s patronage, highlighting it as a catalyst for future events in the UAE. Padel’s growth in the emirate has been bolstered by leadership support, including hosting the 2022 World Padel Championship under Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's patronage.

Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, noted the rapid development of padel in Dubai, citing increased participation, court infrastructure, and international tournament organization. The Dubai Premier Padel P1 will feature 256 male and female players, continuing Dubai's legacy as a global sporting hub.

Acknowledging Sheikh Mansoor’s patronage, Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), underscored Dubai’s commitment to global sports. Ivan Modia, CEO of Gallop Global and Tournament Director, highlighted Sheikh Mansoor’s support as pivotal to expanding padel infrastructure and accessibility.

Since its founding in 2014, the UAEPA has led padel’s governance in Asia, affiliating with the International Padel Federation (FIP) in 2016. Padel gained official recognition as a sport in 2014, with the UAE now hosting 30% of Asia’s padel courts and 2% worldwide.

Dubai’s reputation as a premier sports destination continues to grow, exemplified by hosting diverse global competitions and fostering sporting excellence. The addition of Dubai Premier Padel P1 to its roster reflects the city’s alignment with international sports trends.
