Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour Earns ₹943 Crore in India

The Dil-Luminati Tour by Diljit Dosanjh has become one of the most successful music tours by an Indian artist. According to a report by Ernst & Young (EY), the India leg of the tour generated a total revenue of ₹943 crore.

Diljit performed 14 shows across 13 cities in India during 2024. The concerts attracted more than 3.2 lakh fans, with the Delhi show alone setting a record of 55,000 attendees.

Massive Audience and Travel Impact

The report highlights that 49% of the audience came from tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Around 38% of fans travelled from other cities to attend the concerts. Many of them extended their stay by up to five days, which gave a strong boost to tourism and hospitality.

Revenue Breakdown

Out of the total ₹943 crore:

• ₹221 crore came from ticket sales

• ₹33 crore came from sponsorships

• ₹114 crore was generated as tax revenue

The tax collection includes ₹111 crore from GST and other taxes, along with more than ₹2.5 crore from local permissions.

Indirect Economic Boost

The biggest contribution came from indirect spending. The tour generated around ₹553 crore through expenses on:

• Travel

• Hotels

• Food and beverages

• Shopping and lifestyle services

This data is based on a survey of over 5,000 attendees.

Regional Contribution and Jobs

North India contributed the highest share (42%) of the revenue, followed by West India (23%). The tour also created around 1.18 lakh man-hours of employment across logistics, security, production, and related services.

Diljit’s Reaction

Reacting to the report, Diljit Dosanjh said the tour was more than just music. He said it supported livelihoods, boosted tourism, and helped businesses grow. He also thanked fans, cities, and everyone involved in making the tour successful.

The Dil-Luminati Tour was held across multiple regions including India, the US, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East in 2024. Globally, the tour generated around $137 million in direct revenue.

In India, the tour covered major cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati. All shows were sold out in advance.
