A drone attack caused a fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday, as Iran continues its attacks across Gulf countries. Officials confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident.
According to Fujairah’s media office, the energy facility—located about 150 km east of Dubai—was hit by a drone, leading to a fire. This comes just days after another fire broke out at the same oil hub on Saturday due to falling debris during a drone interception.
In a separate incident, authorities in Abu Dhabi reported that debris from an intercepted ballistic missile fell in the Bani Yas area. The incident resulted in the death of a Pakistani national.
The UAE Ministry of Defence stated that its air defence systems are actively intercepting incoming missiles and drones launched by Iran. Loud explosions were heard, and UAE airspace was temporarily closed before reopening later, causing major travel disruptions.
The ongoing attacks come after joint air strikes by the United States and Israel on Tehran on February 28. Iran has justified targeting Gulf countries by citing the presence of US military bases in the region.
However, several civilian sites—including airports, ports, and oil facilities—have also been affected. The UAE has faced the highest number of attacks, with over 1,800 missiles and drones reportedly launched at the country since the conflict began.
Other Gulf countries have also been targeted. Qatar reported a small fire in an industrial area caused by debris from an intercepted missile, but no injuries were recorded. A safety alert was issued in Doha after residents heard explosions.
Saudi Arabia confirmed that its forces intercepted multiple drones in the eastern region, while Kuwait’s National Guard also reported shooting down two drones.
In response, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries strongly condemned the Iranian attacks and pledged to defend their territories against further threats.
The situation continues to raise security concerns across the region, with increasing risks to civilian safety and infrastructure.
