Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council (SMC), has initiated a charitable campaign for eye surgeries in Egypt. This campaign, facilitated by the Sharjah Broadcast Authority (SBA) in collaboration with Sharjah Charity International, aims to provide free eye treatments to patients unable to afford them at Aswan University Hospital.

During his visit, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi toured the hospital, inspecting its facilities and the services provided to patients. He interacted with individuals who had undergone eye surgeries supported by SBA's charitable initiatives, expressing his well-wishes for their recovery.

Muhammad Hassan Khalaf, Director General of SBA, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his ongoing support and emphasized SBA's commitment to humanitarian causes under his leadership. Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International, welcomed the launch of the campaign in Aswan, Egypt, underscoring its alignment with SCI's mission to provide healthcare globally. He praised the collaborative efforts and generous contributions that enable SCI to extend vital medical treatments to those in need.

The campaign, supported by donors and SBA, aims to benefit around 500 individuals by offering essential eye care services, including cataract surgeries. Aswan University Hospital, equipped with advanced medical infrastructure, plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services across the region.

In addition to the eye surgery campaign, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi introduced the "Adopt a Library" initiative at the Dr. Magdi Yacoub Heart Centre and Aswan University Hospital. This initiative, part of the Kalimat Foundation's efforts, aims to provide compact libraries stocked with Arabic books to enhance educational resources for children and communities in need.

Accompanying Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed during his visit were dignitaries including Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Tariq Saeed Allay, Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, and officials from the health sector of Egypt.

This initiative underscores the UAE's commitment to humanitarian causes and strengthens bilateral ties through impactful charitable initiatives in Egypt.
