Spencer Lofranco, the Canadian actor known for his role alongside John Travolta in the 2018 film Gotti, has passed away at the age of 33. His brother, Santino Lofranco, shared the news on Instagram on November 20, confirming that Spencer died on November 18.
In his post, Santino wrote: “To the legend @roccowinning. My brother. You lived a life only some could dream of. You changed people’s lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you, Bear. RIP. October 18, 1992 – November 18, 2025.” The post included photos of Spencer from his childhood and recent years.
Spencer, a Toronto native, acted in seven films between 2013 and 2018. Some of his notable works include Angelina Jolie’s 2014 war film Unbroken and Gotti, in which he played John Travolta’s onscreen son in the biographical story of New York mob boss John Gotti. Other films in his career include At Middleton (2013), Jamesy Boy (2014), Dixieland (2015), Home (2015), and King Cobra (2016).
Reports indicate that Spencer’s death is being investigated in British Columbia, Canada.
In a 2014 interview, Spencer revealed he chose acting at age 17, despite his father hoping he would pursue hockey or law. He studied acting for a year at the New York Film Academy before beginning his film career. He once shared his excitement about working with Angelina Jolie in Unbroken, saying, “Growing up, Angelina Jolie was my dream girl. Now I’m going to shoot a movie with her. It’s crazy.”
Spencer Lofranco’s passing marks the end of a young life that had already left a mark in the world of film.
