Sheikh Mohamed & Syria's President Discuss Relations and Security Matters

Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, engaged in a telephone discussion with His Excellency Ahmed Al Sharaa, President of Syria, to explore bilateral relations and regional dynamics.

The leaders reviewed the robust connections between the UAE and Syria, identifying opportunities to enhance collaboration across multiple sectors. They stressed the importance of building partnerships that serve mutual interests and yield benefits for their populations.

President Ahmed Al Sharaa underscored the longstanding relationship between the two nations, expressing a mutual commitment to promoting cooperation and stability.

The dialogue also touched on recent regional issues and their serious ramifications for security and stability. The leaders voiced their concerns regarding ongoing Iranian actions that threaten the UAE and other countries in the region, including assaults on civilians and vital infrastructure.

They agreed that such actions breach national sovereignty, contravene international law, and contradict the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter. Both emphasized the necessity of collaborative efforts to uphold peace, security, and stability across the region.
