Abu Dhabi, UAE – The President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has made an important announcement. He has issued Federal Decree No. 93 of 2025, which promotes His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to the rank of General.
Sheikh Hamdan is the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence. This promotion is a big step that shows the trust and respect the leadership has in him.
The decree was officially signed and will be published in the government’s official gazette, which is a public record of new laws and orders. The promotion became effective from the day it was signed.
Sheikh Hamdan is a well-known leader in the UAE. He is the son of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan was born in 1982 and became Crown Prince of Dubai in 2008.
He is known for his love of the country, strong leadership, and support for young people and innovation. Sheikh Hamdan is very active in public life. He often meets with citizens, attends government events, and supports programs for education, technology, and health.
He also plays a key role in the country’s defence and national security as the Minister of Defence.
In the military, the title of General is one of the highest ranks. It is given to people who show strong leadership, deep knowledge, and serious responsibility. Sheikh Hamdan’s promotion to General shows that he is trusted to help guide the UAE’s defence efforts.
This also shows how important the Ministry of Defence is to the future of the UAE. With this step, Sheikh Hamdan now has more authority and responsibility in protecting the country and planning its defence strategies.
By promoting Sheikh Hamdan, the UAE leadership is sending a clear message of confidence in the next generation of rulers. The country is building on strong foundations while preparing for the future.
Many Emiratis see Sheikh Hamdan as a role model. He is known for being close to the people and for caring about their needs. This promotion strengthens his role not only in Dubai but also in the wider federal government of the UAE.
The UAE continues to build a strong leadership team that can guide the country in a fast-changing world. With young leaders like Sheikh Hamdan taking on more roles, the country is looking ahead with vision and unity.
This latest promotion is part of that bigger journey—one that aims to make the UAE safer, smarter, and stronger.
