A very sad incident took place in Sharjah, where a 4-year-old Indian boy died after being left alone in a school bus. The boy was studying in KG at a private school.
How It Happened
On May 21, 2024, the boy went to school by bus. He fell asleep during the ride. When the bus reached school, the staff didn’t notice that he was still inside. The child stayed locked inside the hot bus for many hours.
Later, he was found in very bad condition. He was taken to the hospital, but doctors could not save him. He died because of the heat and lack of air.

Court Decision
Sharjah Court said the bus supervisor was at fault and gave her 6 months in jail. The driver was fined AED 5,000. The school also has to pay AED 3.3 million to the boy’s family.
The court said the school did not follow safety rules and didn’t train its staff properly.
Family and Public Reaction
The boy’s parents, who are Indian residents in Sharjah, are heartbroken. The incident shocked many people across the UAE. Parents are now asking for better safety in school transport.
New Safety Rules
After this, Sharjah education department made new safety rules. Now, all schools must:
Check buses after every trip
Use safety alarms in buses
Keep full records of students
Train bus drivers and staff regularly
These rules are made to make sure no child is left behind again.
