Sharjah – The Executive Committee of the Sharjah Healthy City Program held its first meeting of 2025 on Wednesday, March 5, at the headquarters of the Sharjah Health Authority. The meeting was chaired by HE Dr. Abdulaziz Al Muhairi, Head of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority.
During the session, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Muhairi highlighted that the expansion of the Sharjah Healthy City Program aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. He explained that the goal is to improve the quality of life for people in the emirate by encouraging cooperation between different sectors and organizations. This will help create a long-lasting, healthy environment by following the best global standards.
The committee approved the minutes of the previous meeting, ensuring that all planned initiatives continue without interruption. The focus remains on expanding the Sharjah Healthy City Program and improving public health across the emirate.

During the meeting, members reviewed key recommendations from the first training workshop, which covered health city assessment methods and ways to introduce innovative health projects. Another major discussion was about Sharjah’s participation in the upcoming Healthy Cities Conference in Kuwait, where representatives will learn from successful regional experiences to further develop the program.
A major highlight of the meeting was the launch of the "Evidence Platform", a digital tool designed to collect and analyze health-related data. This platform will help authorities make better decisions and improve health services for the community.
The session also included discussions on various updates and new proposals aimed at strengthening the Sharjah Healthy City Program and ensuring it meets its objectives effectively.
With these efforts, Sharjah continues to move forward in its mission to provide a healthier and better living environment for all residents.
