The Sharjah government has shared a list of events for the third Global Media Congress, taking place in Abu Dhabi from November 26 to 28. Important media groups from Sharjah, like the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, and Sharjah Media City (Shams), will organize more than 20 activities, such as talks, workshops, and debates, over the three days.

These activities will focus on Sharjah’s growth in areas like media, education, culture, and business. Topics will cover Sharjah’s progress in education, its business and farming opportunities, how it helps young people, and how the media can play an important role in society.
Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, head of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, said that Sharjah’s media plans change to stay updated with new trends. He also mentioned that the Global Media Congress is a great opportunity for people to share ideas and learn from each other.
Tariq Saeed Allay, head of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, said Sharjah is proud to show its achievements at this event. He added that the Global Media Congress is one of the most important media events in the world.
Sharjah Media City (Shams) will also take part in the event. Rashid Abdullah Al Obed, head of Shams, said that Shams wants to help creative people and bring new ideas to life. He also mentioned that Shams Studios, a new project, will soon become a place for creative work in the region.
At the Sharjah pavilion, one session will focus on Sharjah’s education system, which is a model for the world. Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashmi from the Sharjah Private Education Authority and Dr. Mohamed Safi Al Mosteghanemi from the Arabic Language Academy will talk at this session. Dr. Abdul Salam Al Hammadi will lead the session.
Another session will discuss scientific journalism in the Arab world. Hussein Al Moosawi, the editor of National Geographic Al Arabiya, and Abdul Latif Al Sayegh, head of Al Sayegh Media Company, will take part in this discussion.
There will also be a session on “Government Storytelling,” where Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ayish will explain how governments can tell their stories in a better way. Another session will focus on child safety, with Hanadi Al Yafei talking about Sharjah’s efforts to protect children.
A key session, called “Sustainable Food Security,” will discuss how farming and investment can help make sure there is enough food in the future. Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji from Sharjah’s Department of Agriculture and Hana Saif Al Suwaidi from the Environment Authority will lead the discussion.
Another session, called “Media Education and Jobs,” will talk about how studying media can help people get good jobs. Fadhila Al Muaini, president of the Emirates Journalists Association, and Dr. Abeer Al Najjar, a media professor, will speak at this session. Journalist Waleed Al Asbahi will lead the discussion.
Sharjah’s pavilion will also have a session on improving Arabic content using new technology. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Zaher and Dr. Sherin Moussa will lead the session. Another session, called “The Future of Technology in Media,” will talk about how new tools are changing the media industry.
There will also be a session on how social media affects young people. Graduates from the Ithmar media training program will discuss how social media can change or harm values.
Sharjah will also show an exhibition called “Artefacts from Sharjah Museums.” Visitors can learn about Sharjah’s past and its rich history through this display.
Sharjah will also hold workshops for media workers. These workshops will teach how to use drones in media, how to write for social media, and how to create content with new tools. One of the workshops will focus on how the media can help young people.
With all these events, Sharjah is showing its important role in the media world. The Global Media Congress is a great chance for people to learn from each other and share Sharjah’s achievements with the world.
