The Sharjah Press Club (SPC), functioning under the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, held an engaging dialogue session on Tuesday at the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization as part of its Tawasul initiative. This event aimed to strengthen connections between media representatives and senior officials from the Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA).

Notable attendees included HE Aisha Rashid Ali Bin Deemas, Director General of the SMA; HE Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau; HE Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau; and Asma Al Juwaied, Manager of the SPC.

Allay opened the session by highlighting the SMA's crucial role in promoting Arab and Islamic culture both locally and globally. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between media stakeholders and government agencies to effectively communicate vital messages to the community.

Bin Deemas elaborated on the SMA's strategic vision, which aligns with the aspirations of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. She underscored the authority's commitment to enhancing Sharjah’s and the UAE’s cultural landscape through its 16 world-class museums, which showcase themes including art, history, Islamic culture, archaeology, heritage, science, and marine life.

During her address, Bin Deemas announced that Sharjah Museums welcomed over 1.7 million visitors in 2023. She reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to making its publications and media materials accessible in multiple languages, such as English, German, and Urdu, to broaden its cultural outreach globally. The SMA also actively engages in international events and academic collaborations throughout the year, working closely with universities and researchers.

The meeting provided a platform for media representatives to pose questions, to which Bin Deemas and other senior officials responded, offering insights into the strategies and methodologies employed by the authority.

The SPC is dedicated to organizing various events and programs throughout the year to foster engagement and interaction with the media community in the emirate. This dialogue session exemplifies the ongoing efforts to strengthen the relationship between media entities and cultural institutions in Sharjah.
