Bollywood actress Amrita Rao recently shared on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast how superstar Shah Rukh Khan encouraged her during the shoot of Farah Khan’s 2004 hit film Main Hoon Na.
Amrita revealed that during a break in the film’s schedule, Shah Rukh, who was shooting another film at the time, invited her and her mother to meet him. He praised her for having the qualities of a superstar and shared advice she still follows today.
“He said something very nice: 200 films will come, but we must sign only two, hoping one of them will be the film people are waiting for. That has been my criteria while signing films,” Amrita said, highlighting how selective she has remained in her film career.

She also praised Shah Rukh’s professionalism on set. “He would observe newcomers and take the nervous energy off us. Every first take was the best take; there were no second takes because his temperament was such that he didn’t ask for them,” she added.
Main Hoon Na, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Zayed Khan, Sushmita Sen, and Amrita Rao, was one of the biggest Bollywood hits of 2004. The film marked a significant milestone in Amrita Rao’s career.
In recent work, Shah Rukh Khan has appeared in Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki (2023) and is currently shooting for Siddharth Anand’s King alongside his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. He won a National Award for his performance in Jawan. Amrita Rao was last seen in Jolly LLB 3 with Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and Huma Qureshi.
