Saudi athletes achieved impressive results at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games (Riyadh 2025), increasing the Kingdom’s total medal count to eight. The team’s consistent performances across weightlifting, boxing, and swimming showed the growing strength of Saudi sports on the regional stage.
The games, which bring together athletes from across the Islamic world, highlight teamwork, discipline, and national pride. Saudi Arabia’s athletes have continued to perform strongly, driven by dedication and support from sports authorities.
Saudi weightlifter Siraj Al-Saleem opened the day with two bronze medals in the 65 kg category, showing great strength and determination. He lifted 134 kg in the clean and jerk and finished with a total of 303 kg.
His effort earned him two medals — one for the clean and jerk and another for the total. Al-Saleem’s achievement reflects the growth of weightlifting in the Kingdom and the ongoing success of Saudi athletes in strength sports.
The Saudi boxing team also made the country proud by winning four bronze medals. Competing in various weight categories, the boxers demonstrated skill, speed, and courage throughout their matches.
Their performance showed that Saudi Arabia’s boxing program continues to improve and gain recognition. The national boxing federation’s focus on training young athletes and investing in international experience is paying off.
These four bronze medals helped the Kingdom’s medal count grow quickly and highlighted the spirit of determination that defines Saudi competitors.
In swimming, Zaid Al-Sarraj added another medal to Saudi Arabia’s collection by finishing third in the 50-meter freestyle final. He recorded a fast time of 22.57 seconds, earning the team’s seventh bronze medal of the day.
Al-Sarraj’s medal reflects the rising standards of Saudi swimming. His focus, preparation, and ability to perform under pressure mark him as one of the country’s promising athletes in aquatic sports.
The success of Saudi athletes at the Islamic Solidarity Games shows the results of years of effort and planning. Sports development programs supported by the Saudi Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee continue to help athletes compete on the international level.
The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games are more than a sporting event — they celebrate unity, peace, and cooperation among Muslim nations. Hosting the event in Riyadh highlights Saudi Arabia’s ability to organize major international competitions while promoting youth engagement in sports.
With the medal tally now at eight, including one silver and seven bronze, Saudi Arabia continues to aim higher. Athletes from different disciplines have shown their potential and determination to improve further in upcoming events.
The Kingdom’s participation in Riyadh 2025 also inspires young Saudis to pursue sports and represent their country proudly on the global stage. The athletes’ dedication and passion are a reflection of Saudi Arabia’s growing sporting culture and its long-term vision for excellence.
As the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games continue, Saudi teams are looking forward to adding more medals to their tally. Competitors in athletics, taekwondo, and other events are preparing for their upcoming contests with strong hopes.
With every performance, Saudi Arabia strengthens its position as one of the leading sporting nations in the Islamic world. The Kingdom’s athletes have not only earned medals but also respect for their discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
