The Saudi show jumping team delivered an impressive performance at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games (Riyadh 2025). The competition, held at Al-Janadriyah Arena, brought together skilled riders from across the Islamic world. After a challenging second round, three Saudi riders—Abdullah Al Sharbatly, Khaled Al-Mobty, and Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi—secured their places in the final round of the individual show jumping event. The final will take place tomorrow, and expectations for the Saudi team are high as they continue their pursuit of medals.
Abdullah Al Sharbatly, one of the Kingdom’s most experienced riders, showed great focus and control during the second round. He completed the course in 75.06 seconds without any faults, which is considered an excellent score in show jumping. Finishing a course with zero faults means the rider made no mistakes in jumping obstacles, timing, or technique. His clean round confirmed his place among the top contenders for the final round. Al Sharbatly has been a key figure in Saudi equestrian sports for many years, and his qualification further reflects his skill, consistency, and leadership within the team.
Khaled Al-Mobty also qualified for the final after completing the round in 80.40 seconds. Although he incurred three faults, his overall performance remained strong enough to secure a qualifying position. Faults in show jumping can occur from knocking down poles, refusals, or exceeding the time limit. Despite the mistakes, Al-Mobty maintained strong balance, speed, and coordination with his horse, proving his ability to compete at a high level. His qualification is an important boost for Team Saudi Arabia, as he adds depth and reliability to the squad.
Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi delivered one of the fastest rounds among the Saudi riders, finishing the course in 71.10 seconds. However, he collected four faults, likely due to a knocked obstacle or a technical error. Even with these faults, his time and overall score were good enough to place him in the final. Al-Rajhi is known for his bold riding style, and his speed on the course showed confidence and determination. His entry into the final gives Saudi Arabia another strong chance of winning a medal.
The qualification of all three riders is another clear sign of the growth and excellence of Saudi equestrian sport. Over the past few years, Saudi Arabia has invested heavily in equestrian training programs, horses, competitions, and international partnerships. These efforts have helped riders gain more experience and confidence in global events. The achievements at Riyadh 2025 show that the Kingdom is becoming a serious competitor in the sport of show jumping.
With three riders reaching the final round, the Saudi team now aims to turn their strong performances into podium finishes. The final round tomorrow will be challenging, with top riders from different countries competing for medals. The Saudi riders will need to focus on accuracy, timing, and teamwork with their horses. A medal in the individual competition would add to Saudi Arabia’s growing tally at the Islamic Solidarity Games and strengthen the nation’s sporting reputation.
As the final round approaches, Saudi fans and supporters are hopeful. The combination of experience from Al Sharbatly, determination from Al-Mobty, and speed from Al-Rajhi gives the team a strong chance to shine. Their qualification represents not only their personal achievements but also the continued progress of Saudi equestrian sports. Tomorrow’s final promises to be an exciting and competitive event, and the nation eagerly awaits the outcome.
