They believe in protecting all Arab nations. The primary aim of the council is to collaborate and safeguard essential interests of these countries. The backing from Arab leaders, he highlighted, signifies the gravitas of cybersecurity in the region's progress and stability.
He conveyed gratitude towards King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their direction and support. He lauded their endeavors in uniting Arab nations, promoting regional security.
The Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, talked about the need for united strength among the Arab nations given the increasing cybersecurity risks. Working together, he insisted, will build a robust protective system.
Aboul Gheit expressed faith in the Council uplifting the region's security and recognized Saudi Arabia's leading role in forming it. Key Council topics included reviewing significant documents from Arab League countries and making strategic decisions.
Tasks included kickstarting an Arab Cybersecurity Strategy, selecting the Secretary-General and council members, and arranging joint cybersecurity drills. They even set the framework for the Council’s operations. Discussions also centered around fresh cybersecurity trends and ways to strengthen cybersecurity via global cooperation.
