In a letter dated November 7, 2024, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, extended his congratulations to Kamala Harris, the outgoing Vice President of the United States, following her loss in the recent US presidential race to Donald Trump. In his message, Gandhi commended Harris for her "spirited Presidential campaign" and expressed admiration for the "unifying message of hope" she had promoted throughout her run, noting that it would continue to inspire people around the world.
Despite the election results, Gandhi acknowledged the significant impact of Harris's campaign and the values she advocated.
