Priyanka Chopra recently attended the Varanasi promotional event in Hyderabad, where she expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mahesh Babu and his family for making her feel welcome during the film’s shoot. She mentioned that Mahesh’s wife Namrata Shirodkar and daughter Sitara helped her feel completely at home throughout the project.

A new behind-the-scenes picture from the sets has now surfaced online, further delighting fans. The image was shared by Sitara on her Instagram Stories to wish SS Karthikeya, son of filmmaker SS Rajamouli, a happy birthday. She captioned it, “Happy birthday Karth anna,” while Karthikeya reposted it with a thank-you note. In the picture, Priyanka is seen standing with her mother, while Namrata and Sitara smile beside them. Karthikeya stands to the right, completing the cheerful group frame.

A day earlier, Priyanka also posted a fun video of herself dancing with Karthikeya to AR Rahman’s iconic track “Urvashi Urvashi.” In her message, she affectionately wrote that he is “the man who silently holds up the fort” and wished him a happy birthday, expressing joy at sharing this journey with him.

The upcoming film Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli, unveiled its trailer at the same event, building immense anticipation. Set for release in January 2027, the movie promises a visually grand, time-travel-driven action adventure with deep mythological influences. The trailer opens with an asteroid breaking apart, with fragments landing in Varanasi, Antarctica, Africa, and other regions. The story stretches across centuries and hints at themes inspired by the Ramayana.

The trailer’s final visual left a strong impact: Mahesh Babu, playing Rudhra, appears blood-soaked, holding a trident while riding a bull against a backdrop of ancient temples. Priyanka Chopra portrays Mandakini, while Prithviraj Sukumaran takes on the role of the antagonist, Kumbha. With its massive scale, mythological depth, and star-studded cast, Varanasi is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the decade.
