Tadej Pogačar Wins 2025 UCI Road Race

Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates-XRG clinched his second consecutive UCI World Championships Road Race title on Sunday in Kigali, Rwanda. The Slovenian star broke away from the peloton with 66km to go and maintained his lead to the finish, securing the coveted rainbow jersey for another year.

Pogačar completed the challenging 6:21:20-hour race ahead of Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel, who finished 1 minute 28 seconds later, and Ireland’s Ben Healy, who crossed the line 2 minutes 16 seconds behind.

The 2025 Road Race drew large crowds as riders tackled Kigali’s demanding course, featuring steep climbs and cobbled sections. Pogačar intensified the action over 100km from the finish, leaving only teammates Isaac del Toro and Juan Ayuso able to match his pace. The trio powered ahead on the course’s defining climb, eventually separating themselves from the peloton.

The victory marks another milestone for UAE Team Emirates-XRG, reinforcing Pogačar’s dominance in international cycling. His solo effort throughout the final stretch highlighted his tactical skill and endurance.
