In a significant announcement, the United States has declared the successful end of Operation Epic Fury, with officials noting that the military campaign met its goals after 38 days of intensive operations. This conflict has transitioned into a new chapter as Iran accepted a ceasefire and reopened the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz, allowing international shipping to resume.
President Donald Trump hailed the results as an indication of his administration’s commitment to a policy of “peace through strength,” underlining that clear military objectives were outlined and achieved within a defined period. The focus of the operation was to diminish Iran’s military power and curb its influence beyond its borders.
According to U.S. defense officials, the mission specifically targeted critical elements of Iran’s military infrastructure, including ballistic missile systems, drone capabilities, naval forces, and sectors of its defense industry. The operation reportedly involved thousands of strikes, significantly degrading Iran’s operational efficacy.
Top military leaders indicated that the initiative was designed to curtail Iran's ability to jeopardize regional security and international shipping routes. The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is considered a pivotal development, as the waterway is crucial for global energy supplies.
Additionally, officials reported that the campaign impacted Iran’s air and naval forces, as well as its capacity to support allied factions in the area. The United States believes these measures will reduce future security threats and pave the way for more extensive diplomatic discussions.
While the U.S. has framed the operation as a decisive success, it also emphasized that ongoing negotiations aim to establish a more comprehensive and enduring peace accord. The ceasefire is regarded as a preliminary step towards alleviating tensions and reestablishing stability in the region.
The international community is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the ceasefire holds, as efforts continue to foster further diplomatic advancements in the weeks ahead.
