OpenAI has launched a new feature called "Deep Research" for ChatGPT Pro users. This tool helps people in jobs like finance, science, and engineering find accurate and detailed information. It can also help regular people make smarter choices, like when buying a car or home appliances.

Deep Research is different from other tools because it helps users look at information from many places carefully. Users can choose the "deep research" option in ChatGPT, type in their question, and even add files if needed. It may take 5 to 30 minutes for the answer, and users will be notified when it’s ready.
Right now, Deep Research is only available on the web version of ChatGPT, but OpenAI plans to add it to mobile and desktop apps soon. For now, the answers are only in text, but OpenAI plans to add pictures and charts later.
The feature is available today for ChatGPT Pro users, with a limit of 100 questions per month. OpenAI plans to give it to Plus and Team users next, and later to Enterprise users. It’s not yet available in the UK, Switzerland, or some European countries, and OpenAI has not said when it will be available there.
There are worries that AI might give wrong answers. To fix this, OpenAI says each Deep Research answer will show where the information came from and explain how the answer was found, so users can check if it’s correct.
Deep Research uses a special system that looks for and studies information. This system gets better over time and can look through text, pictures, and PDFs from the internet. It can also work with files users upload, create charts with Python, and add pictures from websites to its answers.
