In a major step toward advancing the UAE’s AI ambitions, Microsoft has announced that it will enable local data processing for Microsoft 365 Copilot, exclusively for qualified UAE organizations. The service is set to launch in early 2026 and will be hosted within Microsoft’s advanced cloud data centers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
This development aligns with the UAE’s broader vision to become a global hub for artificial intelligence innovation and responsible AI deployment. The initiative ensures that all Copilot interaction data is securely stored and processed within the country, enhancing both regulatory compliance and data sovereignty.

With local hosting, organizations can also expect reduced latency and faster performance, making AI-driven productivity tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot more efficient. The move supports the country’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 and complements the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI, reflecting the UAE government’s ongoing commitment to secure, in-country AI infrastructure.
The project is being rolled out in collaboration with key national bodies, including the Cyber Security Council and the Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC), to ensure that AI applications meet stringent security and regulatory standards. This collaboration is designed to maintain robust data governance and protect sensitive information while fostering AI adoption across government and private sectors.
Microsoft’s commitment to the UAE also includes supporting skill development and economic growth. The company projects over 152,000 new jobs through its cloud ecosystem and aims to train one million UAE learners in AI by 2027, reinforcing its role as a trusted partner in the nation’s digital transformation.
