MBRSC opens 2025 Research Experience for Undergraduates Programme registrations

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) has officially announced the start of registrations for the 2025 Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Programme. This programme is designed to inspire and train the next generation of Emirati space science professionals.

The eight-week summer programme will run from June to August 2025. It offers Emirati undergraduate students in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) a unique chance to take part in real research alongside top experts in space science and engineering.

Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are expected to graduate no earlier than Fall 2025. It is aimed at giving students practical experience and preparing them for future careers in the space sector.

Research at Leading Institutions
Participants will have the opportunity to work at prestigious institutions such as:

MBRSC itself

• Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences
• University of Sharjah
• New York University Abu Dhabi
• National Space Science and Technology Center
• Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
• Hands-On Learning with Experts

During the programme, students will be mentored by industry professionals and researchers. They will gain experience by working on projects related to space science, human health in space, and engineering.

Knowledge Camp Before the Programme
Before the programme begins, accepted students will attend the REU Knowledge Camp. This camp will help them understand the key research topics and introduce them to their assigned mentors.

The REU Programme is part of MBRSC’s mission to develop Emirati talent in space science and technology, equipping students with valuable skills and real-world experience.
