A joint delegation from the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), AD Ports Group, and other government entities, in coordination with the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi (ADCMC), conducted a field visit to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).
The visit focused on assessing the condition of those affected by recent Iranian attacks on Abu Dhabi, ensuring continuous case monitoring, and reviewing coordination among relevant authorities.
The delegation was led by His Excellency Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports. During the visit, officials were briefed on procedures for managing cases from initial emergency response to ongoing patient care.
They examined the integrated operational framework designed for rapid intervention and resource allocation, aligned with evolving priorities. The delegation also reviewed coordination pathways between health, ambulance, and security authorities and discussed contingency planning to maintain uninterrupted services under evolving scenarios.
Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan highlighted that the rapid response and collaborative efforts among entities demonstrate Abu Dhabi’s robust institutional framework. He affirmed that the healthcare system operates proactively, ensuring service continuity and strengthening the emirate’s readiness to handle challenges.
He stated:
"In the UAE, everyone is part of one community. Supporting those injured is a national and humanitarian duty. Today’s efforts reflect our leadership, advanced medical capabilities, and deep-rooted humanitarian values."
He added that the Unified Medical Operations Command Centre acts as a strategic hub to manage resources, coordinate efforts across entities, and maintain healthcare continuity even in exceptional circumstances.
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi emphasized that collaboration among government entities represents an advanced model of crisis management. AD Ports Group continues to support national and local systems by leveraging logistics and operational capabilities to strengthen supply chain resilience and ensure efficient response to evolving situations.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation wished for a swift recovery for all affected and stressed the importance of continued joint efforts. They also underscored the need to adapt operational plans, integrate roles effectively, and maintain a flexible, rapid response across all scenarios.
