The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), operating under the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has officially announced new dates for the 35th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF). The prestigious cultural event will now take place from September 13 to 18, 2026, instead of its originally planned schedule in April.
The decision reflects the fair’s growing global importance and its standing as a key cultural platform in the region. Organizers aim to ensure strong international participation and sustained visitor engagement by selecting a more suitable timeframe.
According to officials, the rescheduling follows extensive consultations with international partners, publishing houses, and relevant UAE authorities. Key factors discussed included global travel conditions, the availability of international guests, and logistical considerations impacting the publishing industry.
In addition to the revised dates, organizers confirmed that the 20th edition of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award ceremony will now be held during the book fair in September, further enhancing the event’s cultural significance.
The move is expected to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for literature, publishing, and cultural dialogue, while offering a more accessible and inclusive platform for participants worldwide.
