Abu Dhabi is taking a big step towards a greener future with a new partnership between the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), also known as Abu Dhabi Mobility, and GIGATONS, a company that specializes in net-zero e-mobility solutions. This collaboration aims to make transportation in Abu Dhabi more sustainable by introducing smart, zero-emission electric mobility solutions.
As part of Abu Dhabi Mobility’s participation in UAE Innovates 2025, the agreement was signed by His Excellency Ibrahim Khalil Al Hosani, the Executive Director of the Support Services Sector at Abu Dhabi Mobility, and Toddington Harper, CEO of GIGATONS.

This agreement is an important milestone for Abu Dhabi’s efforts to promote green mobility. Both organizations believe this project will help reduce pollution, lower carbon emissions, and increase public awareness about the importance of clean transportation. They plan to use the latest electric vehicle (EV) technology, create better charging infrastructure, and develop smart transport strategies. These efforts will support Abu Dhabi’s environmental goals and encourage more people to switch to electric transport.
A key part of the partnership is knowledge-sharing. Abu Dhabi Mobility and GIGATONS will work together on projects to promote electric vehicles across the emirate. They will also develop smart and sustainable charging stations to help cut down emissions and encourage the use of clean energy in transportation.
In addition, the collaboration will focus on creating charging solutions for all types of electric vehicles, including autonomous transport. GIGATONS, known for its award-winning electric charging network in the UK, will use its expertise to help Abu Dhabi build a world-class charging system.
GIGATONS also aims to support Abu Dhabi in developing next-generation transport infrastructure that improves air quality and aligns with the UAE’s Net Zero goals. The first projects, expected to roll out between 2025 and 2026, will include multi-modal charging stations for different electric vehicles such as cars, trucks, taxis, and electric bicycles. These stations will also feature rest areas and parking spaces. Additional projects will focus on heavy-duty electric vehicles operating in ports and on major roads in Abu Dhabi, along with solutions for autonomous transport.
This partnership supports Abu Dhabi’s larger vision of sustainability and economic growth. By promoting green mobility, it will create new job opportunities and encourage innovation while helping to reduce carbon emissions. Both ITC and GIGATONS are committed to building a cleaner, smarter, and more connected transportation system, ensuring Abu Dhabi remains a leader in sustainable urban development.
