International Men’s Day is a great occasion to take a break and spend time with close friends. Instead of planning another regular night out, many people are choosing short and exciting trips where they can relax, bond, and explore new experiences together. Singapore has become a popular choice for such trips, thanks to its mix of modern attractions, cultural food, nightlife, and natural beauty. This 48-hour guide offers an easy and detailed plan for a fun and refreshing boys’ trip to Singapore.

Singapore offers the perfect balance between a new travel experience and a comfortable destination close to home. The city is clean, safe, filled with great food, and packed with activities for all types of interests. Whether the group enjoys nature walks, street food, coffee, bars, or unique cultural experiences, Singapore brings everything together without feeling rushed.

The day in Singapore often begins quietly, especially in areas like Joo Chiat where the streets are lined with colorful heritage shophouses. A morning walk here with kaya toast and kopi gives a simple but enjoyable start before the rest of the city wakes up. The slow morning mood is followed by busier moments later in the day as the group explores different neighborhoods, hawker centers, and back-alley bars with character and charm.

Day 1 – Morning Adventure at MacRitchie Reservoir

For a refreshing start, a visit to MacRitchie Reservoir is a perfect choice. This large reserve covers over 2,000 hectares of protected forest under the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. It offers challenging and scenic trails where visitors can hike, climb steps, and even explore a suspension bridge high above the forest.

The TreeTop Walk, a 250-meter suspension bridge hanging 25 meters above the ground, gives a beautiful view of the forest canopy. Along the trails, visitors can hear birds, enjoy the greenery, and sometimes spot playful macaque monkeys. The experience feels like parkour in nature, with the body moving actively across hills, boardwalks, steps, and bridges.

Trail Timings:

Prunus, Petai, Chemperai Loop: Daily, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

TreeTop Walk:

Tuesday to Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Location:
MacRitchie Natural Trail, Singapore

After the hike, many visitors like to stop at Roti Prata House on Upper Thomson Road for a hearty breakfast before continuing the day.

A Cultural Meal at Old Bibik’s Peranakan Kitchen

In the afternoon, the group can move to Old Bibik’s Peranakan Kitchen in Joo Chiat. This restaurant is known for authentic Peranakan or Nyonya food, which blends Malay and Chinese culinary traditions. The dishes are homemade and filled with strong and aromatic flavors. Local ingredients like lemongrass, tamarind, belacan, and galangal give depth and richness to the food.

Popular choices include Ayam Buah Keluak, a dish known for its deep and earthy taste, and Nyonya Laksa, a warm coconut-based noodle soup with herbs, spices, and prawns. Those looking for a complete and easy meal can try the Nyonya Bento Rice Set, which includes several traditional tastes on one plate.

Timings:
Daily, 11:30 am – 9:30 pm

Location:
328 Joo Chiat Rd, #01-02, Singapore

After lunch, visitors can take a short walk to CATA Coffee to enjoy a cup of specially curated weekly brews, giving a nice and calm end to the afternoon.

A Trip That Feels New and Relaxed

The charm of a short trip to Singapore is how smoothly each experience blends into the next. From nature walks to cultural meals, busy city streets, and calm cafes, the city offers something for every mood. A boys’ trip here feels meaningful, full of new discoveries, yet relaxed and easy to enjoy.

With more experiences like vintage sidecar rides through Chinatown and Geylang, Singapore’s nightlife, and hidden bars with unique drinks, the adventure continues into the evening. The city allows visitors to go with the flow, making memories without feeling rushed or pressured.

As International Men’s Day becomes a time of reflection, bonding, and celebration, Singapore stands out as a destination that offers joy, energy, and cultural warmth—all within just 48 hours. It proves that sometimes, the best trips are not the longest ones, but those filled with shared moments that stay with the group long after returning home.
