Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, the Hafeet Sport Challenge will return for its second edition in Al Ain Region from 2 to 19 Ramadan.

The event is organised by Al Ain City Municipality in cooperation with Al Ain Club. It is one of the leading community sports events in Al Ain during the holy month of Ramadan, bringing together athletes from different age groups in a competitive and community-focused atmosphere.

The Higher Organising Committee confirmed that all preparations have been completed and the event is expected to see strong participation from all sections of society, including families, youth and People of Determination.

This year’s challenge also supports the UAE’s Year of Family initiative, launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The initiative aims to strengthen family bonds, encourage community participation, and promote healthy lifestyles.

The Hafeet Sport Challenge will feature a wide range of sports and activities, including running, shooting, cycling, chess, esports, padel, cricket, basketball, volleyball and football tennis. The programme also includes football tournaments for institutions and residential neighbourhoods, along with dedicated categories for People of Determination.

His Excellency Rashed Musabbeh Al Manei, Director-General of Al Ain City Municipality, said the challenge plays an important role in encouraging sport as a sustainable lifestyle and improving quality of life. He added that organising the event reflects the municipality’s commitment, along with its partners, to investing in community sport as a key pillar of social development, while delivering high-quality sports and community events that strengthen social cohesion.

The first edition of the challenge attracted around 10,000 participants across more than 30 sports tournaments. It concluded after 13 days with an awards ceremony honouring winners for their sporting achievements and community engagement.
