Late Tuesday night, emergency teams in Dubai rushed to stop a fire that started at a restaurant in Al Barsha, close to the famous Mall of the Emirates. The fire was caused by a gas leak at Pearl View Restaurant and Cafeteria.
Dubai Civil Defence shared that they quickly controlled the fire. They also posted a photo showing the restaurant’s broken front. The gas blast was so strong that it shattered the windows and left pieces of glass all over the sidewalk.
At 10:40 PM, Dubai Civil Defence posted on social media platform X, saying, “Our teams quickly brought the fire under control. It was caused by a gas leak at a restaurant in Al Barsha.” Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident.

Videos on social media showed thick black smoke rising into the air. Many people who were in the area at the time stopped to watch. A police helicopter was also seen flying above the scene.
The fire looked like it had spread to the lower part of the building that the restaurant is in. Some people online said they heard a loud explosion from inside the nearby Mall of the Emirates. One resident said their building’s lights went out and their windows shook because of the blast.
This is not the first time a fire has happened in Al Barsha recently. It’s actually the third fire reported in this busy area over the last few months.
Back in October, a fire broke out in an apartment building during the early hours of the morning. Everyone was safely evacuated. Firefighters fought the flames for about two hours. Police and ambulance teams also came to help, and the street was blocked off for safety.
Then, in December, another fire started in an eight-storey building near the Mall of the Emirates. That fire spread quickly while most people were asleep. Residents in the building had to knock on their neighbors’ doors to wake them up because the fire alarms didn’t go off. The fire happened at Time Topaz Hotel Apartments around 10:33 PM. Dubai Civil Defence arrived within five minutes to fight the large fire. No one was hurt, and some people who lived in the building were moved to a nearby hotel.
Authorities are still reminding people to always be careful and report any gas smells or problems right away. Fires like these can be very dangerous, especially in places where many people live or visit.
