French biochemist Jessie Inchauspe, known on social media as the “Glucose Goddess”, has shared that mulberry leaf extract is her number one daily supplement. She says it may help control blood sugar levels and reduce glucose spikes after meals.
According to Jessie, taking 250 milligrams of mulberry leaf extract every day for two months can show positive results. She said that fasting blood sugar may decrease, HbA1c can improve, and fasting insulin levels may also come down. These changes can support better long-term blood sugar health.
She explained that mulberry leaf contains a natural compound called DNJ. This compound slows the process of breaking down carbohydrates into sugar. Because of this, sugar enters the bloodstream more slowly, helping to avoid sudden sharp increases in blood sugar.
Jessie added that the supplement she uses also includes lemon extract. She says this may help the body release more GLP-1, a hormone that controls appetite and helps manage blood sugar levels.
However, Jessie said the supplement does not replace healthy eating habits. She described it as “extra support,” especially on days when someone is busy, traveling, or unable to follow strict meal plans.
One important caution she shared is that mulberry leaf extract is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. There is not enough research yet to show if it is safe for them.
Health professionals say that while supplements may help, they are not a cure and should be used with doctor’s guidance. More scientific studies are needed to fully confirm these benefits.
This report is based on information shared by Jessie on social media. The claims have not been independently verified by medical experts.
