Superstar Jackie Chan sent fans around the world into panic mode after a death hoax about him spread rapidly across social media. On Monday, a photo went viral showing the international action legend lying on a hospital bed, sparking rumours of his death. A Facebook post falsely claimed that Jackie Chan had passed away and that the news was confirmed by his family.
The viral post read, “Today, the most beloved person in world cinema, all of our hearts, has passed away... a worthy actor, a great Kung Fu player, the man with a funny laugh, Jackie Chan, has passed away.”
However, these claims are completely false. Jackie Chan is alive, healthy, and continuing his work in the film industry. As the fake post gained traction, fans and followers quickly took to social media to debunk the hoax, sharing recent updates and photos of the actor.
“Why is Facebook trying to kill off Jackie Chan?” one user commented. Another joked, “I almost shouted at work,” while a third added, “Internet trying to kill Jackie Chan today.”
Another fan wrote, “Facebook’s latest fake news: Jackie Chan has passed. He hasn’t.”
This is not the first time the martial arts legend has been targeted by false death reports. Over the years, similar rumours have circulated, and Jackie Chan has personally addressed them multiple times, assuring fans of his good health.
Despite the recurring hoaxes, Jackie Chan continues to maintain an active presence in the entertainment world. The 70-year-old actor, known globally for his iconic roles in “Rush Hour”, “Police Story”, and “The Karate Kid” franchise, remains a cherished figure in world cinema.
On the professional front, Jackie Chan has several exciting upcoming projects. Reports suggest that films such as New Police Story 2, Project P, and Five Against a Bullet are in different stages of production. He is also rumored to return for Rush Hour 4, a sequel fans have eagerly awaited for years.
Known for his blend of action, comedy, and heartfelt storytelling, Jackie Chan’s work continues to inspire generations of movie lovers. His dedication to performing his own stunts and promoting Chinese martial arts culture has made him one of the most respected and admired figures in global cinema.
