Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the UAE, met with László Kövér, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, to discuss ways to strengthen parliamentary relations and expand cooperation between the two countries. The meeting took place at the National Assembly headquarters in Budapest as part of Ghobash’s official visit to Hungary, leading an FNC delegation.

The meeting, attended by several members of the FNC, focused on mechanisms to activate and enhance parliamentary cooperation between the UAE and Hungary. Both sides explored ways to align this cooperation with the growing bilateral relations between the two countries across political, economic, and social fields.

One key topic discussed was increasing visits and holding meetings of the Parliamentary Friendship Committee. These meetings aim to institutionalize cooperation by exchanging parliamentary information and expertise. Both sides emphasized that regular dialogue and consultation on issues of mutual interest can strengthen coordination in regional and international parliamentary forums.

Ghobash and Kövér noted that meetings between the leaderships of the UAE and Hungary play an important role in advancing bilateral relations. Such engagement contributes to broader strategic cooperation and strengthens parliamentary relations at all levels. Institutional communication between the two councils is seen as a key pillar supporting positive momentum in their collaboration.

The two parliaments discussed the importance of cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, technology, innovation, and education. Strengthening ties in these sectors can contribute to sustainable development and serve the interests of both peoples. The focus on knowledge exchange and joint projects was highlighted as a means to support long-term bilateral partnerships.

Both sides agreed that parliaments have a crucial role in supporting bilateral relations. By enhancing parliamentary dialogue, the UAE and Hungary can strengthen political understanding and promote cooperation on international and regional issues. These efforts are expected to complement government-level initiatives and provide a platform for consistent and effective collaboration.

The UAE and Hungary plan to continue institutional communication and expand parliamentary engagement through regular meetings, joint committees, and expert exchanges. Such efforts are expected to promote mutual understanding, advance shared interests, and contribute to the development of sustainable partnerships in multiple sectors.

The meeting between Saqr Ghobash and László Kövér reflects the commitment of both countries to deepen parliamentary cooperation and strengthen bilateral ties. Through institutional dialogue, knowledge sharing, and strategic collaboration, the UAE and Hungary aim to enhance their partnership in politics, technology, education, and sustainable development for the benefit of both nations.
