Sarah Ferguson’s upcoming children’s book Flora And Fern: Kindness Along The Way has been withdrawn from sale after repeated delays, according to data from industry analytics. The book had initially been scheduled for release on 9 October and later appeared with a revised date of 20 November on Amazon, but it has now been removed from the platform entirely.
The title has been officially marked as “withdrawn from sale” at the request of the publisher. Representatives for Sarah Ferguson declined to comment, and New Frontier Publishing has not responded to multiple inquiries seeking clarification.
The withdrawal comes at a difficult time for Ferguson. She lost the use of her duchess title after her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, relinquished his Duke of York title due to his connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has since also lost use of his prince title.
Booksellers confirmed last month that the publication date for Flora And Fern had been moved without a new date provided, and no further updates have been issued since.
Although no official reason has been offered for the book’s withdrawal, industry observers believe the move is likely tied to the controversies surrounding Ferguson. One publishing expert said the decision “makes total sense commercially,” explaining that releasing a book linked to Ferguson at this moment would be “poor timing.” The publisher may wait several months before reconsidering the release, as the story is not time-sensitive and can be safely delayed without financial risk.
Questions have also emerged about Ferguson’s relationship with her other publishers. One major publishing house that released her previous works declined to discuss whether it will continue its association with her but noted that her past titles remain in print.
Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor are also reported to be leaving the Windsor Royal Lodge. While Andrew is expected to move to the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk, Ferguson’s next residence has not been confirmed. Some reports suggest she may relocate to Portugal to stay with her daughter Princess Eugenie, though her representatives have not commented.
Ferguson has also been dealing with renewed scrutiny over her past association with Epstein. In September, several charities cut ties with her after a 2011 email surfaced describing Epstein as her “supreme friend” and appearing to apologise for publicly criticising him.
Despite mounting challenges, Ferguson continues to be involved in various business ventures and has an extensive publishing history that includes children’s books, non-fiction works on Queen Victoria, and her own memoirs.
