Zayed International Airport recently hosted an engaging art exhibition featuring two distinctive series: "Safe Trip" and "I Met a Traveler from an Antique Land." Sheikha Fakhra bint Diab bin Saif Al Nahyan presented these captivating artworks to the airport, with Sheikha Alyazia bint Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the esteemed artist, in attendance.
During the presentation, Sheikha Fakhra received a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of Sheikha Alyazia from Elena Sorlini, the Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports. The event commenced with a warm welcome statement and was graced by the presence of Elena Sorlini and Sherine Al-Maskari, the Director of Protocol, followed by a comprehensive tour of Zayed International Airport.

The "Safe Trip" collection is a remarkable fusion of art, drawing inspiration from renowned international paintings used in airline advertisements. Sheikha Alyazia's unique artistic additions elevate this collection into a transformative journey of art appreciation. Notably, the "Safe Trip" series garnered attention through a successful solo exhibition at Casa Arabe in Madrid, Spain.
In contrast, the "Mishmash" series creatively blends various symbols, including ancient Phoenician, modern Emirati, and Islamic motifs, on redesigned coins. This innovative approach intertwines shared identities while preserving original characteristics, symbolizing a harmonious coexistence of diverse cultures. The marble artwork, resembling cave openings, conceals a hidden treasure—an intricate design inspired by ancient eastern coins.
"I Met a Traveler from an Antique Land" exhibition, previously showcased at the PI Artworks Gallery in London, UK, offers a captivating exploration of cultural heritage and historical narratives. Both "Safe Trip" and "I Met a Traveler from an Antique Land" were also featured in the prestigious Contemporary Inscriptions exhibition at Bayt Al Sinnari, a renowned historical landmark in Sayeda Zeinab, Cairo.
These artistic endeavors not only enrich the cultural landscape of Zayed International Airport but also foster meaningful dialogues and reflections on art, heritage, and travel experiences.
