Etihad Airways and Tunisair have signed a new codeshare agreement aimed at strengthening air connectivity between Abu Dhabi and North Africa, responding to growing travel demand between the two regions.
Under the agreement, passengers can now book flights between Abu Dhabi and Tunis using either airline’s code on Etihad-operated services. The arrangement allows travellers to complete their journey on a single ticket with one check-in and seamless baggage transfer to their final destination.
The partnership applies to Etihad’s three weekly flights on the Abu Dhabi–Tunis route, which began operations on 1 November 2025. Flights are operated using the Airbus A321LR aircraft, featuring three cabin classes including First, Business, and Economy.
Commenting on the development, Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves said the agreement enhances access to Abu Dhabi for travellers from North Africa, citing increasing interest in the emirate for business, tourism, and family travel.
Tunisair CEO Halima Ibrahim Khouaja stated that the collaboration expands travel options by linking the Maghreb and African markets with the Gulf region, describing Abu Dhabi as a key strategic destination for the airline.
Tunisair, with more than 75 years of operational history, serves destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America. Etihad Airways maintains over 40 global codeshare partnerships, offering connections to more than 500 destinations worldwide.
