Elon Musk has shown support for Poornima Ramarao, the mother of Suchir Balaji, who was found dead in his San Francisco apartment on November 26. Balaji, a former OpenAI worker who spoke out against the company, had raised serious issues about how the company worked before his death.

Ramarao has questioned the official ruling of suicide and is calling for the FBI to investigate what she believes was a “cold-blooded murder.” She shared results from a private investigator and a second autopsy, which both said that the police’s reason for death was wrong. She also said that there were signs of a struggle in the bathroom and bloodstains in her son’s apartment, which suggested that something bad happened to him.
In her posts, Ramarao said she would not stop trying to get justice for her son. "We demand an FBI investigation," she wrote. Elon Musk agreed with her, saying, “This doesn’t seem like a suicide.”
Balaji’s death shocked the tech world. He was known for his strong views about artificial intelligence and had left OpenAI because of his worries about its impact. In an interview earlier this year, Balaji accused OpenAI of breaking copyright laws and said that technologies like ChatGPT could be dangerous to the internet.
Before his death, Balaji became more vocal about his worries about AI and its effects on people. His mother remembered him saying, “He felt AI is a harm to humanity.”
The mystery surrounding his death has only grown. People are questioning if his decision to speak out against OpenAI could have played a role in his death. His family is still looking for answers, and many are waiting to see if an FBI investigation will help uncover the truth.
