Dubai Police successfully tracked and returned a lost suitcase containing $7,000 and important travel documents to an Egyptian traveler within just 30 minutes, ensuring he could continue his journey without delay.
Brigadier Hamouda Al-Suwaida Al-Ameri, Director General of Airport Security, shared that the traveler, Mounir Sayed Ibrahim, had mistakenly taken another passenger’s suitcase instead of his own at Dubai International Airport. When he realized the mistake, he immediately reported the issue to the airport police. His situation was urgent as he had another flight to catch to China in just one hour.
Upon receiving the report, Dubai Police acted swiftly. Officers reviewed surveillance footage to trace Mounir's movements from the moment he arrived at the airport. They also coordinated with Emirates Airlines, the airline he had flown in from Cairo.

Their investigation revealed that his suitcase had been taken by another Egyptian passenger, a woman who was still at the airport waiting for her relatives. She did not know that she had picked up the wrong bag.
Thanks to the rapid response and coordination of Dubai Police, the suitcase was identified and returned to Mounir before his flight. The two passengers were very thankful to the police for their efficiency and professionalism in helping them solve the issue amicably.
Dubai Police continues to ensure that the airport is safe and secure, with advanced technology and rapid response strategies in helping travelers with such cases.
