Appreciation for Leadership in Healthcare
During the gathering, Sheikh Ahmed expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Professor Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, the Director General of the Dubai Health Authority. Sheikh Ahmed praised his vital role in laying the foundation for Dubai’s first academic health system and wished him success in his new responsibilities.
The board also reviewed the progress of ongoing projects and achievements, especially those focused on improving patient care and healthcare quality.
Sheikh Ahmed’s Vision for the Future
Sheikh Ahmed welcomed the members warmly and thanked them for their continuous efforts to strengthen healthcare in line with Dubai’s Social Agenda 33. Speaking about the new center, he said:
“We are moving steadily toward a future where innovation and advanced technology are at the heart of healthcare services. The Center for Innovation and Technology is a strategic platform that brings together experts, talented people, and new ideas to create solutions that truly improve health. I would like to especially thank Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg and Dr. Amina Al Rostamani for their generous support in making this pioneering center a reality.”
Honoring Contributions and Philanthropy
At the event, Sheikh Ahmed honored Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Chairperson of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Charity Foundation, and Dr. Amina Al Rostamani, Board Member of the AW Rostamani Group. They were recognized for their support in establishing the new health center.
He praised their valuable efforts in advancing patient care, medical education, and research through community service. The Dubai Health Board also extended their gratitude, noting that both leaders played a pivotal role in community-focused philanthropy.
A Message from Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg
Dr. Raja thanked Sheikh Ahmed for this honor and shared that her father had always instilled in her family the values of giving back to the community. She said that the center will encourage innovation and continuous progress in Dubai’s healthcare system, allowing researchers and medical teams to adopt the latest technologies.
A Message from Dr. Amina Al Rostamani
Dr. Amina also expressed her pride in being honored and said:
“I feel privileged to have contributed to the creation of this important center. Its purpose is to speed up the adoption of smart healthcare solutions and strengthen Dubai’s global position in medical sciences. Supporting such initiatives is part of our social responsibility, which remains central to Dubai’s sustainable development.”
Touring the New Center
Following the inauguration, Sheikh Ahmed toured the facility along with Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Dr. Amina Al Rostamani, members of the board, and international guests including Peter Hall, President of IMEA at Informa Markets, and Hal Wolf, President and CEO of HIMSS.
They were shown the latest innovative projects being developed at the center, all aimed at improving the quality of healthcare delivery.
The Role of Strategic Partnerships
The center was established thanks to a joint donation of AED 10 million by the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Charity Foundation and the AW Rostamani Group, made through the Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health.
The timing of the center’s launch is also important, as it coincides with the first edition of WHX Tech 2025, a major global health technology exhibition taking place from 8–10 September 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
At the exhibition, Dubai Health will announce several new partnerships with leading global organizations including:
Dubai Future Foundation
Prototypes for Humanity
Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation
Siemens Healthineers
Schneider Electric
Huawei
These collaborations will drive forward groundbreaking projects at the new center.
A Home for Healthcare Innovation
The Dubai Health Center for Innovation and Technology is designed to turn big ideas into real-life solutions that improve patient care, drive medical progress, and transform lives. It supports the vision of Dubai Health’s “Patient First” promise.
The center also provides opportunities for clinicians, scientists, students, and innovators to work together, conduct research, and pioneer discoveries.
Statement from the Center’s Director
Dr. Yacine Hadjiat, Director of the Center, said:
“This facility brings together talent from across different fields and provides the right environment to rethink healthcare. It’s not just about technology—it’s about inspiring new ideas, encouraging teamwork, and speeding up discoveries that ultimately serve patients.”
State-of-the-Art Facilities Inside the Center
The center is designed with world-class features similar to top health innovation hubs across the globe. It houses specialized laboratories and advanced spaces such as:
Extended Reality and Brain Interface Lab (XR BCI) – for exploring future brain-computer connections
Robotics and Sensors Lab – for testing robotic healthcare solutions
Artificial Intelligence and Data Lab – for applying AI to patient care
Design Lab – for building and refining healthcare tools
User Experience Room – for understanding patient interaction with new technologies

Supporting Innovators with Technology Transfer
To help ideas move from research to real-world use, the center also has a Technology Transfer Office (TTO). This office helps innovators protect their intellectual property, build partnerships, and take their projects from early testing to large-scale application.
A Bright Future Ahead
The inauguration of the Center for Innovation and Technology marks a turning point in Dubai’s healthcare journey. By investing in advanced technology, research, and international collaboration, Dubai Health aims to create a system where patients benefit directly from innovation.
With strong leadership, community support, and strategic global partnerships, this new center is set to position Dubai as a leading hub for healthcare innovation in the years to come.
