Umm Al Qaiwain has officially unveiled its new promotional identity, marking an important step in the emirate’s journey towards becoming a prominent hub for tourism, investment, and cultural exchange. The launch was guided by the vision of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, and carried forward by H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain and Chairman of the Executive Council.
The introduction of this identity is part of a strategic plan to position Umm Al Qaiwain on the global map as a unique tourist destination. Beyond visual branding, it reflects the emirate’s commitment to showcasing its history, culture, and natural environment while creating new opportunities for economic growth and community development.
A Strategic Vision Anchored in National Growth
During the launch ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla emphasized that tourism is not just an industry, but a pillar of the national economy. He explained that tourism in the UAE has consistently contributed to job creation, economic activity, and international recognition, making it one of the most vital sectors supporting sustainable growth.
He added that Umm Al Qaiwain’s new identity is inspired by the emirate’s deep-rooted traditions and historical legacy. It aims to reflect the spirit of the community, linking the emirate’s heritage with its modern aspirations. According to the Ruler, this step serves as a bridge between the past, the present, and the future, offering a clear message to the world that Umm Al Qaiwain is ready to embrace progress while protecting its cultural foundations.
The Ruler also explained that the project goes beyond visual design—it is an integrated strategic plan meant to provide a clear and comprehensive picture of what Umm Al Qaiwain has to offer, from its rich natural environment and archaeological treasures to its cultural identity that has endured for centuries.
Crown Prince: A Milestone in the Emirate’s Future
H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, described the unveiling as a major milestone in the emirate’s modern development journey. He stressed that the new identity is not just a logo or symbol but an embodiment of Umm Al Qaiwain’s soul, history, and vision for the future.
He highlighted that through this new direction, the emirate seeks to present itself as an ideal destination for tourism, investment, and quality living, positioning itself as a central contributor to the UAE’s broader goals of growth and diversification.
The Crown Prince underlined that the identity represents a forward-looking strategy that will help attract new investment projects, particularly those aligned with global trends in sustainability and modern urban living. By offering a flexible and investor-friendly environment, Umm Al Qaiwain intends to play an even stronger role in strengthening the UAE’s competitive edge in the international economy.

The Symbolism Behind the New Identity
One of the highlights of the launch was the detailed explanation of the symbols and meanings embedded in the identity’s design.
Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Antiquities, explained that the design captures the essence of Umm Al Qaiwain through a combination of natural and cultural symbols.
* The waves of the sea represent the emirate’s maritime heritage and its long history with fishing, pearl diving, and sea trade.
* Golden desert sands symbolize the timeless beauty of the emirate’s natural landscape.
* Palm trees highlight tradition, resilience, and life in the desert environment.
* A drop of water signifies sustainability and the importance of natural resources.
* A pearl-inspired form connects the emirate’s identity to its history as a pearl diving hub.
* Arabic calligraphy adds a cultural and artistic dimension, reflecting the depth of Emirati heritage.
Together, these elements form a complete picture of Umm Al Qaiwain—an emirate that values tradition but is ready to embrace progress.
Enhancing Tourism and Visitor Experience
Sheikh Majid stressed that this new identity is not only about international promotion but also about creating memorable experiences for visitors. He explained that Umm Al Qaiwain has always been known for its natural beauty and peaceful environment, and the identity will serve as a tool to enhance these strengths while introducing the emirate to wider audiences.
He added that the Department of Tourism will launch programmes, events, and new initiatives aligned with this identity to ensure that visitors enjoy exceptional and unforgettable moments during their stay. These programmes will target both residents of the UAE and international tourists, focusing on relaxation, leisure, cultural discovery, and sustainable travel.
The department also aims to use the identity to unify all promotional campaigns, from local initiatives to international exhibitions, giving Umm Al Qaiwain a consistent and recognizable presence in global tourism markets.
The Launch Ceremony
The unveiling ceremony featured a creative presentation showcasing the visual elements of the new identity and how they represent the emirate’s nature, culture, and ambitions.
The event was attended by members of the ruling family, senior officials, and heads of local and federal departments, reflecting the importance of this project for the emirate’s future. During the ceremony, officials stressed the importance of aligning Umm Al Qaiwain’s communication strategies with international standards, ensuring that the emirate speaks with a unified voice across digital platforms, social media, and tourism campaigns.
A Future-Oriented Step for Umm Al Qaiwain
The launch of this identity signals Umm Al Qaiwain’s determination to move confidently into the future while remaining loyal to its roots. The emirate is working towards building a balanced model where economic progress, cultural heritage, and environmental sustainability go hand in hand.
By developing a strong and distinct identity, Umm Al Qaiwain is preparing itself to welcome more visitors, attract global investment, and contribute more strongly to the UAE’s long-term vision for economic diversification and global leadership.
