The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, recently held 252 one-on-one business meetings between companies from Dubai and Angola. These meetings took place in Luanda, the capital city of Angola, as part of a trade visit to both Angola and Mozambique. This visit is part of the ‘New Horizons’ initiative, which helps Dubai companies grow by exploring new international markets.

The trade mission included 20 Dubai-based private companies from many different industries. These included:
Farming and agriculture
Construction and building materials
Electronics
Energy and petrochemicals
Engineering
Trading (FMCG)
Food and beverages
Information technology (IT)
Manufacturing
Shipping and maritime services
Metal industries
Real estate
Retail
Logistics and supply chain
As part of the visit, the Dubai Chamber also hosted a special event in Luanda called ‘Doing Business with Angola.’ This event was supported by the UAE Embassy in Angola, the Angolan Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola (CCIA), the Angolan Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), and the Angolan Consulate in Dubai.
The forum included several important speakers. A speech on behalf of H.E. Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, Angola’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, was given by Antonio Mikotene Domingos, a senior official in the Ministry. Other speeches were given by H.E. Salem Ali Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Angola, and H.E. Eng. Vicente Soares, President of CCIA.
The event had 416 attendees, including top government officials, business leaders, and Angolan companies interested in working with Dubai businesses.
H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, said:
“We are working hard to create strong business ties between Dubai and countries around the world. This trade trip helps Dubai companies find new business opportunities in places like Angola. It also helps our companies grow and makes Dubai’s economy even stronger.”
In 2024, the total value of trade between Dubai and Angola (not including oil) reached AED 7.8 billion, which is a 3.3% increase from AED 7.6 billion in 2023. By the end of March 2025, there were 72 Angolan companies officially registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
During the forum, Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, gave a detailed talk about Dubai’s economy. He explained why Dubai is a great place for businesses and investors.
There was also a discussion session with Jerónimo Nunda Pongolola, a board member of Angola’s Investment and Export Agency (AIPEX). This session explained Angola’s economy and gave advice on how Dubai companies can successfully enter and grow in the Angolan market.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce also listed several products that Dubai can export to Angola. These include:
Cell phones
Textiles
Aluminium plates
Medicines
Rice
Perfumes
Dubai companies can also invest in many growing industries in Angola. These include:
Offshore oil and gas technology
Airport and air travel services
Marine technologies like fisheries and ports
Healthcare and medical equipment
Large projects like airports and railways
This trade mission is helping build strong business ties between Dubai and Angola and giving both sides exciting new opportunities.
