dnata, a major global company that provides air and travel services, has achieved an important milestone by handling more than 1 million tonnes of cargo in Dubai between April 2024 and March 2025. This is the highest amount of cargo ever processed by dnata in a 12-month period.
This success shows a 30% increase compared to last year. The growth is due to strong demand for dnata’s reliable and high-quality services. The company works at two major airports in Dubai: Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum - Dubai World Central Airport (DWC). dnata serves more than 120 airline customers and handles a wide range of cargo. This includes items like fresh food, medicine, dangerous goods, live animals, aircraft parts, and even vehicles.

Guillaume Crozier, dnata’s Chief Cargo Officer, shared his excitement, saying, “We are very proud to reach this milestone in Dubai, which is where dnata was founded and is still our biggest cargo hub. This achievement shows how strong our operations are and how important dnata is in keeping goods moving smoothly through Dubai.”
He added, “Our success is thanks to the hard work of our team and the excellent cooperation with our partners, such as Dubai Airports, Dubai Customs, and Dubai Police. I want to thank everyone involved as we continue to improve cargo handling not only in Dubai but around the world.”
Investing in Technology and Sustainability
dnata’s cargo team, made up of more than 2,000 workers, provides end-to-end services at Dubai’s two airports. The company has recently made major investments to improve its services. One of these is the launch of OneCargo, a new digital cargo management system. OneCargo automates key tasks, such as safety checks, reporting, and managing cargo units. This system uses cloud-based technology to help dnata’s customers track real-time cargo demand and match it with available capacity to make sure they get the most profit.
The system also uses artificial intelligence (AI) tools that give dnata better insights into sales and performance. OneCargo reduces paperwork and manual checks, making the process more efficient.
In addition to digital improvements, dnata has started using autonomous drones in its operations. These drones help speed up cargo processing and improve accuracy when tracking shipments.
dnata is also committed to making its operations more environmentally friendly. Recently, the company switched its entire fleet of non-electric ground support equipment (like vehicles used to load and unload planes) in Dubai to biodiesel. This change helps reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, dnata works on recycling materials, such as cargo pallets and nets, to promote sustainability and reduce waste.
dnata: A Global Leader in Cargo Services
dnata provides ground handling and cargo services at over 90 airports in 16 countries around the world. In the financial year 2023-24, dnata’s teams handled 2.9 million tonnes of cargo globally, which was a 5% growth compared to the previous year.
As dnata continues to grow, it remains focused on providing high-quality services, investing in new technologies, and supporting sustainability efforts to help Dubai stay a key global hub for trade and transportation.
