Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Félix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, during his official working visit to the United Arab Emirates. The high-level meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors.
Both leaders explored opportunities to enhance economic and development partnerships, particularly under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Discussions highlighted ways to align joint initiatives with national development priorities while promoting mutual growth and prosperity for both nations.
In addition to economic collaboration, the talks addressed ongoing developments in the Middle East and their broader implications for regional and global security. President Tshisekedi expressed strong condemnation of attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure, emphasizing that such actions violate international law and threaten stability in the region.
He also reaffirmed the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s solidarity with the UAE, supporting its efforts to safeguard national security, protect its sovereignty, and ensure the safety of its citizens.
The meeting was attended by senior UAE officials, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, along with several ministers and officials.
Earlier, President Tshisekedi was received upon arrival in the UAE by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, marking the beginning of his official visit aimed at reinforcing diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
